Pay Gap Hypocrisy: Michelle Obama’s Employee Stats Will Blow Your Mind

July 7, 2014 7:55am PST

It doesn’t take much to see that anyone without the last name Obama is insignificant, at least to the First Family, but the most recent White House employee stats went to prove just that a bit more. Despite the Obama’s claiming that there needs to be equal pay between men and women in the workplace – a claim only put out there to make themselves appear a bit more noble – it seems they actually have no interest in such a notion whatsoever.

According to the release analyzed by the Washington Post, Michelle Obama has only 2 men on her staff and, on top of that, pays them almost double what the women make.   The Post further details:

The average male White House employee currently earns about $88,600, while the average female White House employee earns about $78,400, according to White House data released Tuesday. That is a gap of 13 percent.

In 2009, male employees made an average of about $82,000, compared to an average of $72,700 earned by female employees — also a 13 percent wage gap.

Now there may be more, but it was only distinguished that those working for Michelle either had the word “first lady” in their position titles, or were involved with either “Let’s Move” or “Joining Forces.” Of course, the two men employed by the First Lady just so happen to run her groups and work as the directors of Let’s Move and Joining Forces.

According to The Weekly Standard:

Their salaries average $123,307. The other fourteen staffers are women (the salary for the deputy director of Let’s Move was listed as $0 and was therefore not included in the analysis). The average pay for the remaining thirteen women is $84,133, a 46 percent difference from the men’s average.

Yet another example of the one sided hypocrisy that seems to ooze from the oval office. What do you guys think – if they want others to uphold a certain standard, don’t you think they should get their own house in order first? Let us know your thoughts on this in the comments below.
