As the fake “war on women” narrative is continually shoved down our throats, news has surfaced of a Democratic lawmaker from Virginia who has a history of trouble with the law being indicted for a sexual relationship with an underage teen girl.
The FreeBeacon reports that Joseph Morrissey was indicted on Monday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl that used to work for him.
According to the court documents for the case, Morrissey had sex several times with the girl at his law office back in August of 2013. The two also sent text messages to their friends that detailed their sexual encounters.
The documents allege that the morning after one of their encounters, Morrissey sent the girl a text asking for a naked picture in order to help him “fantasize about their next encounter.” She complied and sent the photo which Morrissey then sent to a friend, although Morrissey’s attorney claims his phone was hacked.
Court papers claim that the relationship lasted long after she stopped working at Morrissey’s law firm in August. The pair spent the night together at a Norfolk hotel in October and have since “been seen out together socially” as recently as May. Prosecutors also claim that Morrissey helped the girl purchase a new car.
According to the FreeBeacon, Morrissey, who’s single and has three daughters from different women, has a history of scandals and controversy. To protest the defeat of a gun control bill he brought a rifle into Virginia’s House of Delegates in 2013, he’s been jailed or detained five times for misconduct, and his law license has been suspended and revoked due to contempt.
According to NBC Washington:
“Del. Joseph D. Morrissey, 56, of Henrico County faces felony charges of indecent liberties with a minor, possession and distribution of child pornography, and electronic solicitation of a minor. He also is charged with a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.”
Looks like the Democrats found themselves another winner to represent their party, wouldn’t you say?
