Marine Veteran Arrested For Anti-Obama Facebook Posts

In a report sure to send a shiver down the spines of we Americans awake enough to interpret and comprehend what’s going on, a Marine Corps veteran was recently arrested after making a few Facebook posts critical of the government. After spending about a week in a mental institution, he was released and is now suing the slate for a slew of violations.

Brandon Raub thought nothing when posting, “controversial song lyrics, conspiracy theories related to 9/11 and talk of upcoming revolution,” on his Facebook as he is covered under the First Amendment. As it stands however, it appears he struck a nerve with local law enforcement that arrested him, without charge, and had him admitted into a mental health institute for Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

This is absolutely nuts.

A man speaking out against a government he no longer has faith in is arrested and diagnosed with Oppositional Defiance Disorder? This should be a wakeup call to all American alike as so many constitutionally granted rights have been violated that’s its literally baffling.

According to TPNN:

This is not an isolated incident, however, as Raub was detained as part of a DHS directive called “Operation Vigilant Eagle,” a directive aimed at scrutinizing the behavior of veterans for anything nonconformist as a means of weeding out dissent. The program claims to be trying to help veterans who are “disgruntled, disillusioned or suffering from the psychological effects of war.”

Using the sacrifice Raub made for this country, the government effectively silenced a former Marine who was simply exercising his First Amendment rights. Along with this, as he was arrested without charge, thus also illegally violating his Fourth Amendment right when they seized him.

He is now suing the state for these two constitutional violations as well as wrongful imprisonment and kidnapping. What do you guys think – how unnerving is this to you? Let us know in the comments below.
