Vladimir Putin recently appeared on a French television network for an interview, during which he was asked about the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and not surprisingly he doesn’t exactly have a favorable opinion of her. In fact many are calling his rant against Clinton sexist, you be the judge.
Earlier in the year, Clinton likened the Russian President’s actions in the Ukraine to those of Adolf Hitler in the time leading up to WWII, which sparked Putin to make some comments of his own.
“It’s better not to argue with women,” he said. “But Mrs. Clinton has never been to graceful in her statements.”
Putin did say that after past disagreements with Clinton, the two “always met afterwards and had cordial conversations,” but that wasn’t the end of what he had to say by any means.
“When people push boundaries too far, it’s not because they are strong but because they are weak,” he said about the likely Democratic pick for president in 2016.
“But maybe weakness is not the worst quality for a woman.”
The French interviewer chimed in at this point, saying that “women must be respected, of course,” and concluded that Putin obviously agrees with his statement.
Putin then said what most all of us know to be true, “Someday,” he predicted, “I will indulge myself and we will laugh together at some good joke. But when I hear such extreme statements, to me it only means that they don’t have any valid arguments.”
Did any of that seem sexist to you? Let us know with a comment!
