A Maryland teacher faces several charges after he was caught trying to slide his iPad under the door to the bathroom and video a foreign exchange student showering in his home.
39-year-old Darrien Lamont Tucker attempted to film the 18-year-old student on five different occasions but she caught on to what he was doing and instead took photos of him in the act at his home in Potomac, Maryland. After she figured out what was going on she started to bring her phone in the bathroom with her and caught Tucker sliding his tablet PC under the door while he was crouched on the other side.
His perverted actions even caused the girl to set up her own hidden camera in the hallway of the house to record him in the act, and it worked.
Tucker was a teacher at McLean School of Maryland however the exchange student attended a different school. Charging documents described him as the girl’s “host father,” which is why she stayed at his home.
School officials immediately suspended Tucker and ordered him not to return to the school’s campus or attend any functions or activities hosted by the school. He’s also not allowed to make any contact with any of the students from McLean, in spite of passing a thorough background check and never having any prior complaints against him.
The victim said she noticed Tucker trying to record her first on May 27 and 28. After that she started to take her iPhone into the shower with her and snapped pictures of Tucker sliding his iPad under the door.
On May 31 she concealed a camera outside of the bathroom door and captured him on video. In the following days she brought the pictures and video to her school’s authorities and they called the police.
On June 3 Tucker was arrested and charged with five counts of conducting visual surveillance of another person in a private place without consent and prurient intent. Authorities said that during his interview Tucker admitted to making five videos and then deleting them.
