As the racial pot continues to boil, it seems that some are all too eager to give it a stir. Most recently hopping on the bandwagon is a black professor at a community college in Minneapolis, Minnesota who is now being sued for her several racial tirades in which she bemoans white privilege and even singles out white students.
Shannon Gibney is the professor of a Introduction to Mass Communications class leaving those who hear of the matter puzzled as to why race was even brought up in such a class. As it turns out, Gibney is a gung-ho activist that is experienced in her own forms of racism under the thinly veiled cover of white privilege.
Apparently the cries of racism was a frequent thing in the class as Gibney explains at one point students even called her out on the issue saying, “Why do we have to talk about this in every class? Why do we have to talk about this?”
Her response? “We are not talking about all white people, or you white people in general. We are talking about whiteness as a system of oppression.”
This isn’t the first time Ms. Gibney has been in a similar situation as she’s also been busted for hiring a minority applicant over a white one for a position she needed filled on principle. I wonder what the black activist would have to say if the roles were reversed. Then again, it’d be just another example of the unfair white privilege I suppose.
Needless to say, for her latest act of racism, she received a scathing letter from Lois Bollman, vice president of academic affairs saying:
“Shannon, I find it troubling that the manner in which you led a discussion on the very important topic of structural racism alienated two students who may have been most in need of learning about the subject… Your actions in targeting select students based on their race and gender caused them embarrassment and created a hostile learning environment.”
But of course, this is just another act of oppression on a black woman by the hand of a white establishment. According to Gibney, “As a vocal black female younger looking… faculty member here, unfortunately this is no the first time,” she said. “I’ve actually had multiple verbal and institutional attacks on me by white males, whether they were students, faculty, administration or staff.”
You just have to love the hypocritical train of thought the Left seems to be hell bent on pursuing. Feel free to let Ms. Gibney have it in the comments below.
