As a recent email was released after being granted the right to see it by the courts, it appears as though Obama’s administration was complicit in fabricating a cover-up regarding the cause of the Benghazi attack. Aiming to get to the bottom of things, House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, has recently issued a subpoena for Kerry to appear for more questioning.
Lucky for Kerry, he has plenty of time to get his ducks in a row and his story straight as Issa wrote him a letter detailing that he is to appear before the committee on May 21. The email has recently been dubbed the, “smoking gun,” as it proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the excuse set before the public listing an anti-Muslim video as the reason for Benghazi was created by the White House.

Although they initially blamed the flub on information provided to them by the CIA, it wasn’t until the non-profit group Judicial Watch was able to pull the documents from the government’s white knuckle grip through a Freedom Of Information Request suit that this proved to be false.
Issa’s letter to Kerry read, “Compliance with a subpoena for documents is not a game. Because your Department is failing to meet its legal obligations, I am issuing a new subpoena to compel you to appear before the Committee to answer questions about your agency’s response to the congressional investigation of the Benghazi attack.”
The emails had been subpoenaed far before in a bulk request as Congress attempted to get to the bottom of the events of that night. However, proving that they’re holding back, the latest release not only has officials upset because of the documents content, but because of Obama’s administration’s direct and blatant violation of the law once again.
House Speaker John Boehner chimed in saying, “The House used its subpoena power to obtain documents, including emails, last year, but these emails didn’t show up until now, after a court ordered their release to an outside watchdog group.”
He further added, “This defiance of the House’s subpoena power is the most flagrant example yet of the administration’s contempt for the American people’s right to know the truth about what happened when four Americans died in a fiery terrorist attack. If the White House won’t explain it, Secretary Kerry should come to the Capitol to explain why he defied an official congressional subpoena. And the White House needs to understand that this investigation will not end until the entire truth is revealed and justice and accountability are served.”
Pounding his chest, Issa also conveyed that since Obama’s administration failed to provide the requested documents up until now, “such contempt of Congress may constitute a criminal offense.” However, as we’ve seen both with Attorney General Eric Holder, and former IRS official Lois Lerner, contempt doesn’t do much good, nor does it hold an aggressive consequence, for those in a position of power.
Several politicians have weighed in their outrage of the matter, such as Majority Leader Eric Cantor who shared, “The email from Ben Rhodes demonstrates the Obama administration from the beginning misled Congress, the media and most importantly, the American people. It is increasingly clear that this administration orchestrated an effort to deflect attention away from their failed Libya policy and the resurgence of Al Qaeda and other terrorists.”
Of course, those responsible for the email – such as Jay Carney (whose name was on the list of recipients) – have taken to doing anything but admit the truth. At this point however, as its been a constant battle for a year and a half, the pathetic excuse that the Beghazi email wasn’t about Benghazi, just isn’t going to cut it.
It about time, American’s had some real answers and were able to hold those responsible accountable. As Obama said; those guilty would be brought to justice – I think he’s just getting nervous that its going to be his head on the chopping block when Americans get to the truth.
