The man who’s been accused of the shooting over the weekend at a Jewish community center has been identified as a life-long white supremacist.

Frazier Glenn Cross was arrested around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday after he shot dead two people, Dr. William Lewis Corporan and his grandson, Reat Griffin Underwood, outside a Jewish community center in Overland Park, Kansas City. After shooting the two men, Cross allegedly shot a third victim at a Jewish retirement community called Village Shalom.

Police say that Cross has a long history of KKK involvement and anti-Semitism under the name Frazier Glenn Miller. He’s also a father of five and served two tours in Vietnam as an Army Master Sergeant.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Miller didn’t know any of the victims and wouldn’t directly comment if the attack was linked to anti-Semitism, however it is being investigated as a hate crime.

Miller was said to have been carrying a handgun with him during the attacks although he used a shotgun for the actual shooting. According to reports he also had possession of a tactical rifle.

After Miller was arrested, he reportedly screamed “Heil Hitler” from the backseat of the police cruiser he was in.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Miller was the “grand dragon” of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and also a founder of the White Patriot Party in the 1980’s. The party was dissolved in 1987 when he went to jail, however it was founded on pro-Apartheid principles and advocated for the establishment of an all-white ethnostate in the Southern states of America.

He was arrested and served three years for weapons charges and for plotting the assassination of the founder of the SPLC, Morris Dees. He testified against other Klan leaders during his 1988 sedition trial as a part of a plea bargain to reduce his sentence.

According to the SPLC, Miller had been in the KKK movement for just about his entire life.

Miller ran for Congress in both North Carolina and Missouri. He also tried to get the gubernatorial nomination in North Carolina for the Democrat party, and an FBI informant said that he had been under investigation for decades because of his affiliations with hate groups.

Miller’s website, the Vanguard News Network, has over 12,000 posts from him and its slogan is “No Jews, Just Right.” On the site he wrote “He who has learned the jew, but refuses to warn his kinsmen of the jewish menace, is an accomplice of the jews, and an accessory in the jewish enslavement and genocide of his own people.”

In an interview with Howard Stern in 2010, Miller stated that he believes Jews run the federal government, mass media and the Federal Reserve. He claimed “And with those powers, they’re committing genocide against the white race.”

In the same interview he told Stern that Hitler was “the greatest man to ever walk the earth.”

Miller was booked on first degree murder charges and is being held at the Johnson County Detention Center without bond.
