Obama: ‘My Birth Certificate Is Up On A Website Somewhere’

At Al Sharpton’s annual National Action Network convention, Obama took a few swings at the so-called “birthers” after going on a rant about voting rights.

Just before this clip he said that “It’s been led by the Republican Party …. If your strategy depends on having fewer people showing up to vote, that’s not a sign of strength. That’s a sign of weakness. And not only is ultimately bad politics, ultimately it is bad for the country.”

He explained to the crowd that it is “undemocratic” to force someone to produce an ID to vote.

“About 60% of Americans don’t have a passport. Just because you don’t have the money to travel abroad doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vote at home.

“Just to be clear I know where my birth certificate is,” he joked. “I think it’s still up on a website somewhere. Do you remember that?” he added.

“That was some crazy stuff.”
