The reports of the horribly stupid Common Core questions just keep coming out as parents across the nation are realizing just how damaging the convoluted curriculum is. Along with these reports we’re hearing of both parents and students fighting back in fun and creative ways, which gives all of us something to sneer at.
The DailyCaller is reporting that one of their readers has a second-grade student who was creative enough to give an answer to one of those ridiculous questions in a manner that exposed the idiocy of it all. He’s a student at a public elementary school in San Jose, California and his answer appeared on a math worksheet he was given.
The Caller reports that the curriculum at the school is called GO Math! Which is created and published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the same company that has been producing math textbooks for decades.
The parent who alerted the Caller explained that the math curriculum is aligned with the Common Core math standards, which is noted in the fine print on the page.
She said that “If you look closely under the math question, you will be able to see the Common Core standards in a blue-colored print that aligns to that particular question.”
It’s definitely no secret that Common Core problems have complicated math much further than is necessary. Below is a picture of a Common Core related math problem that a frustrated father posted online, which is just one of many examples of parents across the nation speaking out against the idiotic program.
Here’s another example of a Common Core-aligned English lesson that subconsciously teaches students that government is good and they should be more concerned with the needs of the collective than they are their own needs, clearly liberal ideology that doesn’t belong in the classroom.
The on top of this, in February some Common Core lessons were exposed where math questions were asking students if contentious elections, like the one in 2000, were fair or whether or not Lincoln was a liberal, yes those were math questions.
It’s no wonder so many people are chalking the Common Core curriculum up to nothing more than indoctrination. The lessons are teaching students what to think rather than how to think and injecting progressive/liberal ideology into them whenever possible, as example after example has shown.
Do you like the Common Core standards or do you think they’re nothing more than indoctrinating students across the country? Let us know with a comment, we love to read them!
