According to a recent, and long awaited, response by the Attorney General’s office, it appears as if the DOJ has found no conflict of interest in the IRS investigation. Despite Ted Cruz having urged Attorney General Eric Holder to reconsider, the fact that Barbara Bosserman, who is publicly known to have donated several thousands of dollars to Obama and is leading the investigation, the nation is being assured that there is no problem at all.
It should go without saying that someone so heavily committed to a certain person that has done wrong, should in no way even be involved with an investigation let alone lead it. It appears as if Obama’s corrupt administration has other plans as the investigation has yet to even list one name responsible for the misconduct committed by the IRS.

The Senator relayed the transparent irony in a recent press conference saying, “To date, nine months after a damning Inspector General report, nobody has been indicted, many of the victims have not even been interviewed, and Lois Lerner has twice pleaded the Fifth. And yet the Attorney General refuses to allow a genuine–and impartial—investigation.”
Cruz expressed concerns back on January 22 in which he cautioned Holder about the conflict of interest via a written letter. In it, he wrote, “It strains credulity to say that, out of the over 114,000 employees of the Department of Justice, the only possible choice to lead the investigation was a major political donor to President Obama. This, on its face, is a significant conflict of interest… General Holder… I would ask you to immediately appoint a special prosecutor, with meaningful independence, to investigate the IRS’ illegal targeting of conservative groups.”
Almost a full two months later, a true indication of the tortoise like operation of the United States government, Cruz was able to finally receive a response. According to the letter, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Peter J. Kadzik declared that the cause for concern on Cruz’s part was, “not warranted.” Although Bosserman’s name was not listed, Kadzik inferred that the DOJ has the right to appoint anyone they please as long as there is no conflict of interest – a point they remain adamant on denying.
Cruz isn’t backing down without a fight though as a recent spokesman recently talked to Breitbart Texas saying, “We will certainly push back…This is an issue that Cruz remains committed to.”
During a recent press conference, Cruz expressed his frustrations saying, “It is the height of hypocrisy for the Obama Administration to claim that the investigator leading the investigation into the IRS’s illegal program has no conflict of interest. The investigator is a partisan Democrat who has donated over six thousand dollars to President Obama and Democrat causes… Nobody should trust a partisan Obama donor to investigate the IRS’s political targeting of President Obama’s enemies.”
He then continued by likening the actions of the Obama administration to that of Nixon’s or Clinton’s during the course of their equally detrimental scandals. Just as nobody would trust John Mitchell to investigate Richard Nixon, nobody should trust a partisan Obama donor to investigate the IRS’s political targeting of President Obama’s enemies.” He added, “Sadly, ‘in the discretion of the Attorney General,’ Eric Holder has chosen to reject the bipartisan tradition of the Department of Justice of putting rule of law above political allegiance.”
The Senator has since been obligated to initiate a plea for more support from the American people to put pressure on Holder and the Obama administration, as Cruz’s office conveyed, “It is going to take the grassroots across the nation, as well as other members of Congress, to hold this administration accountable. This is an issue [Cruz] will continue to shine a light on.”
What do you guys think – we all know the reasons why Holder is allowing for this conflict of interest to continue, but will Cruz be enough to force the misconduct to cease? Let us know in a comment below.
