Earlier today we reported on Obama’s most recent nominee for Surgeon General and how the transparencies in his actions are astounding. To make the situation all the more ridiculous, the nominee’s, what should be unrelated, anti-gun politics apparent stunted from Saturday morning cartoons.
Reporters recently dug up an old interview from back in 1994, Dr. Vivek Murthy blamed, “the growing problem of kids and violence,” on Saturday morning cartoons. According to the potential Surgeon General, “Today, a typical elementary student wakes up on Saturday mornings to fiery gun battles, explosive scenes of terror and the violent decimation of the ‘bad guy’ – all this in a children’s cartoon.”
He further stated his extremely uniformed notion by saying, “With such destructive influence, society’s preoccupation with firearms and brutal methods of conflict resolution is no surprise.”
Of course, letting people know that his real intentions are making sure that guns are taken away from citizens, rather than his job of keeping people healthy, some are seeking to block the nomination on principle. According to Sen. Rand Paul, “Historically, the Surgeon General of the United States has been a position with the purpose of educating Americans so that they may lead healthier lives, rather than advancing a political agenda.”
Paul further conveyed that, “’Dr. Murthy has disqualified himself from being Surgeon General because of his intent to use that position to launch an attack on Americans’ right to own a firearm under the guise of a public health and safety campaign.”
Other Senators only echoed Paul’s concerns such as Sen. John Barrasso who relayed, “This nominee seems much more devoted to politics than to patients.” Barrasso, who is a medical doctor himself, added, “I know there are a number of senators who are up for re-election who are probably not going to want to vote for somebody who is this committed to taking away our Second Amendment rights.”
Put this all together with the tweets where Murthy boldly proclaimed his opposition with the Second Amendment, is proof enough to show exactly what Obama is thinking when he nominated such a man. Once again, Obama is not focused on the people, but rather his own personal agenda and legacy.
Let us know what you think of this quack and how close he’ll come to the Surgeon General position in a comment below.
