In an astounding show of racially-biased stupidity, one Arizona college student has ben suspended for requesting that her nursing class be taught in English.  Yes, you read that right.  Pima Community College has suspended Terri Bennett, and they even had the gall to declare her a “bitch”, a “bigot”, and “discriminatory against Mexican-Americans”.

Bennett decided to sue the school for the treatment she received and her case will go to court in March.  She is backed by ProEnglish, an English language advocacy group.

Congressman Steve King has introduced a bipartisan bill that would establish English as the official language of the United States once and for all.  Isn’t it sad that such a move is even necessary in the first place?  This is what happens when we open our borders to illegal immigrants and allow them into our country free of consequence.  They are allowed to take advantage of the system and our way of life.  They begin to collectively feel they are owed more and more – like having their college courses taught in Spanish, even when that means that the tax-paying students won’t be able to understand a darn thing.

The Arizona Constitution states, “Representatives of government in this state shall preserve, protect and enhance the role of English as the official language of the government of Arizona.”  As PCC is a tax-payer funded institution, it’s staff are technically acting representatives of the government.  It sounds like an open and shut case to me, but we’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out.
