Shakira Causes Controversy For Lesbian Music Video With Rihanna
February 6, 2014 9:49am PST
Shakira has come under fire from none other than her native country for her latest racy music video.
The video for her collaboration with Rihanna, “Can’t Remember To Forget You”, shows the pair wearing next to nothing and writhing around together on a bed. Columbian politician, Marco Fidel Ramirez, has condemned the video for promoting lesbianism. He has called on Columbia’s National Television Council to ban the video, stating that it is damaging for the moral character of the youth.
One might hope that as a mother, Shakira would have recognized how damaging an explicit video like this can be to the moral characters of impressionable youth, but clearly she did not, as she made the video and is tirelessly publicizing it.
Ramirez says of Shakira:
“Our Shakira with her erotic video is promoting tobacco usage and has become the worst example for our youth. Shakira’s new video is a shameless case for lesbianism and immorality. It is a danger to children. It sends a provocative message to weak people who can be polluted and induced to practice lesbianism.”
Anyone who has seen the video would not want their child to see it.
What do you think? Can we give Marco Ramirez a thumbs up for standing up for morality and family values? Let us know in the comments below!
