Megyn Kelly had a very special guest on a recent episode of The Kelly File; former Presidential Speechwriter Marc Thiessen. During the segment she had with him, he revealed some strange information—that Obama actually plagiarized several lines from Bush’s 2007 State of the Union Address.
Kelly sets the interview by explaining that Thiessen was a Presidential Writer for George W. Bush back in 2007. She later goes on to discuss that the real reason he was able to catch such a flub was because he was the head writer for that year’s State of the Union address.
After realizing listening to Obama’s speech, he noticed he was listening to something that had already been spoken. Thinking his words sounded eerily familiar, Thiessen then compared transcripts between Obama’s and Bush’s speeches and made a startling discovery.
As Kelly put it, Obama “cribbed” off of Bush’s previous address—or plagiarized.
Thiessen then shared several lines that were originally from Bush’s speech but also came out of Obama’s mouth. He shares there were lines like:
“Our job is to help Americans build a future of hope and opportunity. A future of hope and opportunity begins with a growing economy. A future of hope and opportunity requires that all our citizens have affordable and available healthcare. Extending opportunity and hope depends on a stable supply of energy.”
It’s really not a shock when it comes down to it that Obama doesn’t like to do his own work. After all, when promoting a society where the work is done for you, and handouts are given, what else can you expect from its leader?
Then again, it’s probably Bush’s fault anyways. After all, if he wouldn’t have written the speech in the first place it wouldn’t have provided the temptation.
And this isn’t the first time Obama has done something like this either. Just take a look at this video below that put a few clips from Obama’s speeches paired with the ones he’s plagiarized from:
Let us know what you think of Obama’s laziness—is this a shock to any of you?
