Obama is at it again, this time slinking behind the curtain of everyday governmental activity to pass a federal regulation right under America’s nose. In an even bigger effort to deceive, he is trying to get this passed while he is away on his multi-million dollar, tax payer funded, vacation. The regulation aims to violate privacy and expose those with mental illness in effort to prevent Americans from buying guns.
After he failed to pass that all gun purchases by proceeded by a background check, it’s perfectly clear that Obama is still pouting because he didn’t get his way. He continues to negotiate with the U.N in effort to gain a worldwide form of gun control that American will, by default, have to follow.
Well this new regulation aims to violate HIPPA privacy law in order to keep you from buying a gun. According to a White House release, “Too many Americans have been severely injured or lost their lives as a result of gun violence.”
Of course, let’s use tragedy once again to emotional propel political agendas instead of using commonsense.
The release goes on to explain, “While the vast majority of Americans who experience a mental illness are not violent, in some cases when persons with a mental illness do not receive the treatment they need, the result can be tragedies such as homicide or suicide.”
Now unfortunately for the American public, The Blaze states that, “Federal regulations do not require congressional authorization, but must go through a period of public comment and review before being enacted.” In other words, politicians don’t need a majority vote to pass this, just their sheer will power to suffer through listening to you complain about the illegality of it all.
The Justice Department tries to persuade citizens that this really isn’t anything new but more of a clarification on the law more than anything else. Claiming that wording seems to be the issue, they aim to add to the description of those not mentally fit to own a weapon.

Adding to anyone that, “committed to a mental institution,” or “adjudicated as a mental defective,” they expand the list to anyone, “involuntary inpatient and outpatient commitments, anyone found incompetent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, someone lacking mental responsibility or deemed insane, and persons found guilty but mentally ill.”
Smooth talker Attorney General Eric Holder came to the aid of the absent Obama saying, “We are taking an important, commonsense step to clarify the federal firearms regulations, which will strengthen our ability to keep dangerous weapons out of the wrong hands.”
He continued to say, “This step will provide clear guidance on who is prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law for reasons related to mental health, enabling America’s brave law enforcement and public safety officials to better protect the American people and ensure the safety of our homes and communities.”
Of course the government informed the public that, “The Government Accountability Office found in 2012 that 17 states had submitted fewer than 10 records of individuals to the federal background check system who were prohibited from buying guns for mental health reasons.” They are hoping that the expansion of the law will not only allow for more people to be submitted to the agency and government database, but that doctors will feel more comfortable doing so.

Obama’s administration also suggests that the information received will only be accessed during background checks for gun purchases and nothing else. Good think their word means something or else we may not believe them.
In a time where Obama continues to chip away at our every right, revolution may just be lurking around the corner. What do you guys think—is the government doing this for the good of the people or themselves?
