Got an alligator? Want some brewskis? Well, this Florida man had an idea that he could just trade his gator for some beer. Authorities disagreed.
Floridian Fernando Caignet Aguilera was cited by officials from the state’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for mistreating an alligator in a local convenience store on December 10 when he tried to pawn off the gator on a store clerk in exchange for some beer.

When Aguilera tried to make the strange trade, the store clerk called police.
“This is absolutely bizarre. I can’t imagine somebody wanting to barter a live, 4-foot alligator for a 12-pack of beer. It makes no sense to me,” said Jorge Pino, spokesman for the wildlife department.
Pino says that when officials took possession of the gator, it was in good condition. “It was pretty much in good shape, we didn’t notice any unusual conditions on it,” he said.
But Aguilera didn’t just try to trade the gator for beer. He also got abusive when the deal was not going in his favor:
“Aguilera reportedly demanded money, and when he did not get it, he shouted obscenities and lunged at a WSVN photographer, video showed, and broke his camera. Miami Police were called to the scene, and a report was filed against Aguilera, according to WSVN.”
Police determined that Aguilera had captured the gator earlier in the day with the idea of trading the animal for beer or cash.
This is no way to treat an animal. What do you think? Tell us your impression down in the comments, won’t you?
