Palin’s new show is advertised as a platform to showcase the former Alaska Governor’s “red, white, and blue lifestyle.”

The show will be geared to those who love hunting, fishing, and the outdoor experience and will feature stories of people and personalities in the outdoor community.

“It’s very important to have somebody of her stature as a personality on Sportsman because it validates the whole category for everybody,” said Gavin Harvey, Sportsman Channel CEO.

The network has orders 12 episodes of the show.

In 2012, Palin hosted Sarah Palin’s Alaska (see video above), an outdoor show for TLC that earned extremely high ratings during its short, 9 episode run.

The Sportsman Channel also has a series hosted by another conservative celebrity famed for his love of the outdoors. Famed conservative activist and rock musician Ted Nugent hosts Wanted Ted or Alive on the network.

Harvey notes, however, that he does not intend to turn his channel into a platform for conservative political messages.

“It’s not our intention at Sportsman to take any political position,” he said. “This lifestyle, coast to coast, crosses every type of political spectrum.”
