California took another step closer to destroying America’s sovereignty over her borders. The legislature has just sent to Democrat Governor Jerry Brown a bill authorizing the state to issue driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.
Driver’s licenses are one of the key things advocates for illegal aliens have sought for years. They contend that issuing licenses to illegals, who drive anyway, will ensure safer roads. Considering, though, that driver’s licenses are also a form of identification we flash to do everything from voting to banking, one can’t help but believe that there’s a broader agenda here. In any event, we hold that it’s wrong to reward people who are in this country illegally.
Gov. Brown is certain to sign the bill. When it passed, he released a statement that “This bill will enable millions of people to get to work safely and legally. Hopefully, it will send a message to Washington that immigration reform is long past due.”
Up until now, if illegal immigrants were caught driving, while California law enforcement wouldn’t do anything so crass as turning them over to the federal government for violating America’s laws just by being here, law enforcement could arrest them, fine them, and take their car, all for driving without a license.
Those days are over. The fact that your very first act upon entering America is to break the law, is no longer a barrier to a free education, free medical care, and unlimited access to America’s roads. And if it helps you commit voter fraud, well, that’s all the better. (In theory, the licenses are supposed to indicate the illegal aliens’ “peculiar” status; in fact, agitators are already saying that distinguishing marks are unfair and violate the illegal aliens rights.)
