Joey and Rory Feek continue to inspire and amaze us with their bravery and strong faith as Joey’s death from ovarian cancer approaches. Rory is including their fans and well wishers by writing and posting pictures and a new video of Joey’s journey.
The duo just released a video of Joey singing the hymnal “Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling.” See the video below. It is a rather emotional one to view as Joey sings “Come home, come home; Ye who are weary, come home.” Joey recorded hymns over the summer. They are expected to be released on an album for Valentine’s Day.
The couple, who won The Academy of Country Music’s “Top New Vocal Duo” in 2010, live in an old farmhouse in Indiana where Joey was born and raised and will die.
As they seemingly are holding on to each moment left, the Feeks are inspiring many of Americans with their bravery and acceptance of God’s will. Neither are angry at God for taking this mother and wife earlier than expected. They know this is not something they have power over. In a recent interview with The Tennessean, Joey showcased her bravery and faith.
“But I don’t fear anything because I’m so close to God, and we’ve talked about it so many times. I know he’s close. And I know he loves me. I’m really at peace. I still believe there’s healing in prayer.”
Have you been praying for the Feek Family? Please share your thoughts.
