Malia Obama Drops Bombshell About Her Future

Malia Obama began her senior year of high school a few weeks ago, and the 17 year-old daughter is already thinking about what college she would like to enroll in next fall.

While speaking to students in Des Moines last month, Barack Obama revealed the advice he is giving his daughter about the college process, while also acknowledging that she would likely ignore him.

“One piece of advice that I’ve given her is not to stress too much about having to get into one particular college,” Obama said, according to the New York Times. “Just because it’s not some name-brand, famous, fancy school doesn’t mean that you’re not going to get a great education there.”

Obama added that his second piece of advice “is keep your grades up until you get in, and after that, make sure you pass.”

Encouraging your daughter to not do well in school? Great parenting, Barry!

The president may be trying to make it look like Malia is a normal kid just like everyone else, but the first daughter is already trying to use her famous last name to get into as ritzy a school as she can. She has already toured six of the eight Ivies — Brown, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale – as well as schools like Stanford and New York University.

Barack, however, has been too busy to accompany his daughter to any of these schools. Most teens on college tours are always accompanied by their parents, but Malia has been photographed touring these institutions with only her Secret Service detail by her side.

Regardless of where Malia goes to school next year, we’re sure she’s incredibly excited to get away from her crazy parents. Living in the White House may be fun, but living with Barack and Michelle Obama is DEFINITELY no picnic!
