Fox Takes Trump’s Side Over Megyn Kelly’s As Ratings Skyrocket

At the Republican debate last Thursday, Megyn Kelly tried to save her struggling television show by going after Donald Trump in front of millions of people.

Unfortunately for her, this turned out to be a huge mistake.

The backlash against Kelly for her inexcusable behavior during the debate was swift. Over 50,000 people signed a petition demanding she be banned from ever hosting a debate again, and even her co-anchors at Fox started to turn on her. Things got worse for her when Trump himself fired back at her, and last Wednesday, Kelly announced that she will be going on a 10 day vacation, effective immediately.

While Fox News originally stood by Kelly over Trump at first, they’ve changed their tune after seeing the major ratings boost that the business mogul gave them. According to Forbes, Fox’s demographic breakdown is 56% male and 44% female. Fox head Roger Ailes knows that by standing by Trump, he is hedging his audience bets, keeping current viewers and maximizing the revenue stream with the new ones.

Trump has brought Fox record-breaking ratings. 24 million people tuned into the first GOP debate, and many of the viewers turned in only to see what the business mogul would do. The controversies that follow Trump everywhere are sure to bring even more ratings for Fox, and Ailes wants to ensure that his network will continue to benefit from this.

Perhaps Kelly is taking her sudden vacation because she is upset that her network has turned on her in favor of Trump. Sorry, Megyn, but you’re no match for Donald Trump!
