ISIS has released a disturbing new beheading video, and this time they’re going back to basics.

According to Daily Mail, ISIS claims to have beheaded the Croatian hostage who was seen begging for his life in a video released last week. ISIS militants shared a photo on social media to day that they claim shows the body of 30-year-old Tomislav Salopek, who has been held by ISIS since being kidnapped in Cairo on July 22. He had been held in the Sinai province ever since.

The graphic image shows Salopek’s severed head on his back in what has become a trademark of ISIS executions.

ISIS has not yet released a video of Salopek’s beheading, but experts believe that they will be uploading the footage to the internet shortly.

Salopek was kidnapped while he drove to work in a company car for the French firm Compagnie Generale de Geophysique, who he was employed by as a topographer. Last week, ISIS released a video of Salopek reading from a note as he begged for his life.

“My name is Tomislav Salopek, I am 30 years old and I am coming from Croatia… I am married and I have two children,” he said. “They want to substitute me with the Muslim womens arrested in Egyptian prisons… This matter have to be achieved before 48 hours from now, if not the soldiers of Wilyat Sina will kill me.”

The video is a grim reminder of the disturbing series of beheading videos ISIS released last summer in which they executed American and British hostages. Since then, they have gotten more “creative” in their execution methods.
