Western Journalism reports that the Love is Project is a collaboration between African lifestyle company LIFE Line and The Supply Change. LIFE Line supports mothers with special needs children, who are often cast aside by African society, by providing them with opportunities to “earn an income for their families, support an education for their children, and create products that improve the environment.” The Supply Change is a company which “connects global brands with artisan groups to bring socially conscious fashion to the mainstream consumer.”

The new LOVE bracelet, which Sadie and her mother, Korie, are supporting, is made by Kenyan mothers. According to Western Journalism, the idea behind the Love is Project is to connect and empower “people around the world to live full lives in community with one another through the common thread of love.”

Those who pledge $20 or more to the campaign will receive a LOVE bracelet. Then, supporters are encouraged to post a picture wearing their bracelet with the hashtag #loveisproject, and describe what love means to them. The fundraising goal of $5,000 has already been surpassed, with funds of over $10,000 raised at this point. The initial money will go towards raising awareness for the project and purchasing supplies.

If you order your LOVE bracelet by the time the campaign closes on January 18, you can have this awesome bracelet in your hands by Valentine’s Day! Go to this link to get one for yourself and a friend!
