Congress Starts New Cold War With Russia

December 8, 2014 12:50pm PST

Last week the U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of an anti-Russia resolution whose language rivals even the worst rhetoric from the Cold War.

The bill is full of war propaganda as the hypocritical politicians condemn Russia for doing exactly what the U.S. has been doing in Syria and Ukraine for years. For example, the bill attacks Russia for placing economic sanctions on Ukraine and for selling weapons to the Assad government in Syria.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has been placing economic sanctions on Russia for months now, and has also been trading weapons with Syrian rebel groups for years. Many of these American weapons end up in ISIS’s hands in the Middle East.

The bill goes on to slam Russia for their state funded media that they claim “distorts public opinion.” Right, because America’s mainstream media is SO unbiased…

This insulting bill was only opposed by ten members of the House, five from each party. The bill is sure to bring repercussions from Russia, and could easily start another Cold War.

Nice job, congress.
