Grand Jury Comes to Decision in Mike Brown Case
November 24, 2014 12:34pm PST
New reports suggest that the Ferguson Grand Jury has come to a decision on whether or not to charge Officer Darren Wilson with the murder of Michael Brown, and an announcement is expected by the end of the day.
The news comes after a week of waiting for the Grand Jury decision, which could have come at any time. Throughout the last few days, the violence in Ferguson has escalated as the protesters have come to believe that Wilson will not be indicted.
Just last night, the rioters marched from the suburb of Ferguson into the city of St. Louis, shutting down a highway and wreaking havoc along the way.
This violence may only get worse if Wilson is not indicted. The Governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon, declared a state of emergency last week, and the FBI has warned of extremist violence in the wake of the Grand Jury’s announcement.
The threats of revenge attacks from the protesters has caused some to fear that the Grand Jury will indict Wilson just to calm the angry rioters.
