Legendary rapper and actor Nelly made a shocking admission this week that has liberals everywhere outraged.

The performer confessed that he is a proud member of the National Rifle Association while giving an interview to reporters. Nelly made this admission when the interviewer asked him about boys dating his daughter.

“[When] little boys are around my daughters, I’m a proud member of the NRA.” He repeated, “I’m a proud member,” and then said that he greets boys with a “firm handshake” when they arrive at his home to take his daughters on dates.

Though Nelly may seem like a stereotypical “gangster,” the rapper appears to have many traditional values other than just gun ownership. In the interview, he also talked about how important it is for fathers to be there for their kids not only financially, but also “lovingly and mentally being involved in their lives as much as possible.”

Nelly isn’t the first rapper to come out in support of gun ownership. Rapper and Law & Order: SVU actor Ice-T also spoke out in defense of the second amendment a few years ago.

“You know, the right to bear arms… it’s because that’s the last form of defense against tyranny. Not to hunt,” he said in an interview.
