Fox News Drops Ben Carson as He Preps for Presidential Run

In the same fashion as Fox News dropped contributors Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum when they were prepping for presidential runs in 2011, the network has now suspended Ben Carson. The retired Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon will be the first to toss his hat in the ring for a 2016 presidential run, with a 40-minute documentary he is releasing this weekend.

Carson’s paid ad will introduce him to his fellow Americans and share a brief history of the conservative’s upbringing. It will air in 22 states plus Washington, D.C. A spokesperson for Fox has confirmed that at this point, the network will be dropping Carson as a contributor as a result.
