Feds Spent $1.5 Million Studying THIS Instead of Ebola

Dr. Francis Collins, the head of the National Institutes of Health, recently told the Huffington Post that the reason the NIH has not yet developed a vaccine for Ebola, is the fact that the GOP has cut back on their funding. However, Collins’ sob story only served to magnify his own stupidity, as it has previously been revealed that the NIH had enough money to spend a whopping $1.5 million on researching obese lesbians.

Collins insinuated that the Ebola outbreak could have been avoided if not for budget cuts:

“NIH has been working on Ebola vaccines since 2001. It’s not like we suddenly woke up and thought, ‘Oh my gosh, we should have something ready here.’ Frankly, if we had not gone through our 10-year slide in research support, we probably would have had a vaccine in time for this that would’ve gone through clinical trials and would have been ready.”

As proof of the absurdity of this statement, we recall a study which the NIH generously spent 1.5 million tax-payer dollars on. Last March, it was revealed that this insane amount of money was wasted studying why lesbians are fat.

The grant reads:

“Obesity is one of the most critical public health issues affecting the U.S. today. Racial and socioeconomic disparities in the determinants, distribution, and consequences of obesity are receiving increasing attention. [H]owever, one area that is only beginning to be recognized is the striking interplay of gender and sexual orientation in obesity disparities.”

Boo-hoo. Lesbians are fat, therefore, we should waste $1.5 million of your hard-earned money. The Democratic mindset continues to elude me.
