UPS Targets Boy Scouts for Anti-Gay Beliefs

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), was overjoyed to report that the United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) will soon be adopting a policy which will prohibit them from funding Christian organizations that openly discriminate against homosexuals. As the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) do not allow members to be gay, this means that one of their biggest donors is about to cease support. UPS has given the Boy Scouts as much as $150,000 in past years.

UPS notes on their company website:

UPS and The UPS Foundation do not discriminate against any person or organization with regard to categories protected by applicable law, as well as other categories protected by UPS and The UPS Foundation in our own policies. These include, but are not limited to race, gender, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran or military status, pregnancy, age and religion.

Of course, the logical thing to do should one disagree with the Boy Scouts’ anti-gay policy, would be to simply not participate in their activities. Learn how to tie knots and pitch a tent elsewhere; it’s not as if the faith-based organization is making any personal attacks. But ironically, most of the angry progressives taking issue with the Boy Scouts have no affiliation with the organization in the first place. They don’t have a gay son being excluded, rather, they are looking for an easy target to impose their liberal agenda on. In this incessant quest for equality, progressives are taking advantage of programs like the Boy Scouts, who have been around for decades and enriched the childhoods of millions.

BSA chief executive Bob Mazzuca fired back at UPS’ decision by standing his ground:

“The vast majority of the parents of youth we serve value their right to address issues of same-sex orientation within their family, with spiritual advisers and at the appropriate time and in the right setting. We fully understand that no single policy will accommodate the many diverse views among our membership or society.”

The current war on Christianity has led to an outpouring of support for Christian organizations. What the Left doesn’t want you to know, is that the vast majority of Americans still adhere to the Christian principles this great country was founded on, and patriots from all corners of the nation are not willing to let those die. Companies who attack Christians always see the negative affects of such a move, though they never seem to learn. After all, it’s difficult to teach a hard-headed liberal.
