Ocean City police got a very strange call on Tuesday when outraged parents called them to a family-oriented boardwalk. There, cops found a blonde in a bikini pole dancing while a stunned crowd looked on.

According to CBS Baltimore, police told the angry parents that they could not ask her to leave because she had a right to perform in a public space. Two years ago, the ACLU won a lawsuit over Ocean City for street performer’s first amendment rights.

“Basically the street performers can go up there as long as they aren’t breaking any other laws and they’re performing and exercising their first amendment rights,” said Mayor Rick Meehan. “They have every right to be up on the boardwalk.”

Since the police can do nothing, the mysterious pole dancer has continued to perform, much to the horror of local parents.

“I think it’s very offensive. I don’t think that they should be allowed to do anything they want on the boardwalk. I definitely don’t want her seeing people pole dancing on the boardwalk,” said Ocean City resident Jennifer Drechsler.

Mayor Meehan said that the town is trying to find a way to ban pole dancing on the boardwalk, but for now his hands are tied.

“It’s not going to go away. The Constitution of the United States isn’t going to change but we have to do whatever we can do to make sure that the public out on the boardwalk is getting the Ocean City experience they’re looking for,” Meehan said.

What do you think? Does this woman have the right to dance in public, or does she need to go away? Let us know in the comments below!
