Despite the ongoing conversations regarding Tony Stewart’s intentions immediately prior to the hitting and killing of Kevin Ward Jr., it’d be nice to get some actual facts regarding the investigating officers’ findings.  According to a recent press briefing, there will be another two weeks of investigating the incident and criminal charges may be filed pending their findings.

According to Ontario County Sheriff Philip C. Povero, the investigation into the Tony Stewart crash is expected to take another two weeks or more. Although public opinion continues to rage on, Povero adamantly stated that, “it would be inappropriate to discuss details or findings of the investigation with the media,” in the time being.

He did however go on to say that, “when the investigation is completed, we will meet with members of the Ontario County District Attorney’s office and discuss with them all aspects of the investigation into the crash.” From there, they will confer with one another on how to proceed from a criminal standpoint (whether or not there is proof leaning either way).

What do you guys think – is this standard protocol for an investigating office, or could they be hiding something substantial from the public? Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
