The First Lady puts on a nice act in front of the cameras, but talk to anyone who’s worked for her and they won’t have anything nice to say. The general consensus is that Michelle Obama is the reigning “Queen of Mean”.

Obama Hosts St. Patrick's Day Reception

Former staffer Reid Cherlin called Michelle’s office a “miserable place to work” in an essay for The New Republic. Instead of setting her sights on making a meaningful impact through her position, Cherlin reported that Michelle is much more focused on trivial topics, like fashion.

After working on the 2008 Obama campaign, Scott Goodstein reported:

“I got yelled at by Michelle Obama for creating ringtones. ‘Oh my god you’re turning him into a hip hop star’ [she yelled,] ‘Novelty cell-phone rings are not going to get anyone elected President!’ Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people were joining the mobile program to download ringtones.”

During a speech she gave in 2013, Michelle lost her temper when a heckler spoke up and interrupted her. Showing just how much she can’t stand anyone who doesn’t bow down to her, she whined:

“One of the things that I don’t do well is [deal with hecklers]. Do you understand me? Listen to me or you can take the mic, but I’m leaving. You all decide. You have one choice.”

Good grief! She sounds as if she was scolding one of her children!

During the Inauguration Day luncheon in 2013, cameras caught Michele in the midst of an epic eye roll when she overheard John Boehner teasing her husband about smoking. Not exactly the behavior you’d expect from a First Lady.

Even the Commander In Chief is frightened by scary Michelle. You may have heard that he remarked when asked why he quit smoking:

“I haven’t had a cigarette in years. That’s because I’m scared of my wife!”

Barack Obama, Michelle Obama

The President had some harsh words for Michelle in his 2006 book, The Audacity Of Hope. He wrote about when he became a Senator and began spending long periods of time away from home:

“Leaning down to kiss Michelle goodbye in the morning, all I would get was a peck on the cheek. My wife’s anger toward me seemed barely contained.”

It looks like the only thing that will motivate Barack Obama to do some work is if it means he can spend more time away from his crazy spouse.

President Obama And First Lady Meet With Mothers To Discuss Health Care

The Chicago Tribune’s David Mendell said, “The tension between Michelle and her husband was palpable,” during a family RV trip.

TNT Christmas In Washington 2013

Star Magazine reported that when the Obama’s moved to D.C., the President thought public school would be just fine for his girls, “but Michelle is the boss. She put her foot down and now the girls go to Sidwell Friends School.” Bossy, party of one!

The First Lady Hosts Women In Soul Music Workshop And Performance At White House

Biographer Christopher Anderson authored the book Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage. In it, he alleges that the First Lady had a major issue with her husband’s flirtatious behavior towards his constituents. She apparently blamed the women, saying:

“I want to tell these women, ‘Back off. Get a life.’ It’s just embarrassing.”

As time goes on, it seems that more and more people come forward who have had dissatisfactory experiences with Michelle Obama. From people who have worked for her to others who have been casual acquaintances, no one has many good things to say about the First Lady, while stories of her rude behavior are a dime a dozen. Unfortunately, this is the wife and mother representing the United States of America. Frown.
