Yet another story clearly demonstrating the reasoning behind, “it’s better to be safe than sorry,” recently surfaced as two armed thugs kicked in an unsuspecting victim’s door, and started demanding “stuff”. One thing these two weren’t expecting was a dose of hot lead headed in their direction.

The incident took place in Pittsburg, PA, where David Calhoun, 31, and Christopher A. Thomas, 27 decided to try and rob someone. The two reportedly kicked in the door of a 19-year-old college student, fired a round and said to hand over the “stuff”.

The would-be victim somehow made his way to his shotgun and blasted the thieves three times, killing one and wounding the other. When police showed up, they found Calhoun’s lifeless body lying on the floor right next to an injured Thomas.

Beside his injuries and damaged pride, Thomas has been officially charged with, “aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, conspiracy and carrying a firearm without a license,” according to The Blaze. As it turns out, police have also announced that Thomas was wanted in connection to a rape that occurred back in April as well.

Knowing how this story could have gone if the tenant hadn’t owned a firearm, feel free to leave us your thoughts in the comments below.
