Obama Not Paying IRS $35 Million Per Year He Owes For Private Jet

Obama is slowly developing the reputation as being a Socialist, and with good reason. Since he was elected into office, he’s been adamant on one thing – redistributing the wealth of the rich to the poor so that all Americans make an equal wage. Despite this being a ridiculously terrible idea, it seems that he wants this proposed reality to only apply to Americans – you know, that way he can continue living like a king.
According to a report released by Forbes’ Rich Karlgaard, Obama’s private jet is, and has been, costing Americans $35 million a year since his election. Ok, so it’s not necessarily a private jet so much as a Boeing 747 that goes by the name Air Force One, but in just a few minute’s you’re going to get why it’s being referred to as his private jet.
As Karlgaard states that, “A new Boeing 747-8 costs $320 million,” and adding to that the fact that its, “[h]ardened to withstand missile attacks, tricked out with weaponry of its own, festooned with the latest encrypted communications technology, let’s peg Obama’s plane at an even $500 million.”+
Karlgaard further notes that as he’s owned four planes himself, aircrafts all seem to have a yearly maintenance cost consisting of, “capital costs, maintenance, hangar storage, and all the rest,” accounting for about 10% of the price of the plane per year. There’s another $50 million – yearly.
Air Force One burns about 1 gallon of fuel per second making flights cost the American people $80,000 per hour Obama’s in the air – given how often he’s fundraising, those numbers add up quick. According to Karlgaard’s estimation, “Let’s guess and call it 15 hours a week, or 750 hours a year. Fuel costs alone, therefore, would be $60 million a year.”
Concluding his calculation, he lastly explains, “Roughly, the annual carrying costs and fuel costs of Obama’s big fat jet comes to $100 million, give or take.” On top of his $400,000 salary, you have to admit, it’s a pretty big – and undeniable – perk.
Now as Obama is so keen on everyone paying their fair share for an established and balanced economy and society – well, it’s only fair he pays taxes on even the perks of his position, right? According to the current rates (and it would obviously go up if Obama had his way with a Socialistic economy) he’d owe a cool $35 million a year for running his private jet.
Ok, so before you nit-pick nancies get your panties in a wad over the specifics here let me just add an afterthought of Karlgaard that I completely agree with here as he said, “Air Force One is grossly over the top as a transport. That’s why I love it! It’s a great symbol of American prowess. As a taxpayer, I don’t mind funding it.”
Furthermore, he went on to say, “I don’t really expect the president to pay taxes on AF1. I only wish to point out Obama’s hypocrisy of portraying corporate jets as items of luxury. The largest Gulfstream is far smaller and cheaper than a Boeing 747,” – yet another notion we agree upon.
The point here is that Obama is living like a king on tax payer dollars and expecting for even more Americans to go with even less in order for him to continue to live the life of luxury. What do you guys think though – is this a fair assertion? Let us know in the comments below.
