Of all the ridiculous overkill the enforcers of this borderline tyrannical government have been found guilty of, one recent event may just take the cake. According to reports, a group of camping Boy Scouts were harassed by Border Patrol agents, had guns pointed at their heads and were eventually arrested after simply snapping a photo.

The incident took place near the Northern border where Boy Scout Troop 111 came into contact with Border Patrol agents in Alaska. When one boy took a photo of an agent, things turned to chaos as guns were pulled and the boys were detained at gun point for the terrifying next four hours.

The troops leader, Jim Fox, explained, “The agent immediately confiscated his camera, informed him he would be arrested, fined possibly $10,000 and 10 years in prison.” The guns were only drawn after one of the scout’s was removing a piece of luggage from atop the van, as per agent’s orders, when he heard the snap of a holster.

When the boy turned his head, you can imagine his shock to see a loaded pistol being pointed at his forehead by the aggressive agent. What’s even worse is that citizens have the right to film law enforcement personnel in order to protect themselves.

Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of this brazen Constitutional and legal overstep, is that the officer had the audacity to try and justify his actions by saying, “There’s no law, but like I said, based on the fact that it is a critical site, your activity is being deemed suspicious so we have the authority.”

What do you guys have to think about this – doesn’t it seem like there’s something a bit more prudent Border Patrol could be attending to at this time? Of course, the entirety of our borders need protecting, but wasn’t this a bit much?
