L’Oreal Cuts Ties With Teen Model After Hunting Picture Controversy

17-year-old Axelle Despiegelaere became one of the most recognizable faces of the World Cup after a photo of her cheering in the stands went viral. Her good looks even caught the eye of cosmetic giant, L’Oreal.
Earlier this week, Axelle announced on her Facebook page that she had signed a modeling contract with L’Oreal. The company even released the above video showcasing their new model.
When Axelle returned to Belgium after taking in the sights at the World Cup, she set up a Facebook page as a L’Oreal model and it quickly garnered thousands of likes. On the day Belgium was to take on the U.S., she posted this picture:
Just like what happened to the Texas cheerleader huntress, Kendall Jones, Axelle’s Facebook page has since been taken down. Her modeling contract with L’Oreal has been rescinded. A spokesperson for the company tried to backtrack and made the statement:
“Axelle de Spiegelaere is not one of L’Oréal Professionnel’s spokespeople. L’Oréal Professionnel Belgium collaborated with her on an ad hoc basis to produce a video for social media use in Belgium. This has now been produced.”
This is getting ridiculous. It’s coming down to the point where these companies are going to start making girls fill out a questionnaire before they are made a job offer. I can see it now: Do you hunt? Do you own a gun?
Axelle is getting more publicity after being let go by L’Oreal than she did when they discovered her, so the Left’s evil plan to demonize hunting is essentially backfiring.
The Left’s shameless assault on hunting and anything gun-related has got to stop somewhere. Let us know what you think of this latest report in the comments section!
