President Of School Board Tears Into Michelle: ‘She Was Elected By No One!’

Across the country school districts are starting to fight back against Michelle Obama’s school lunch program and lash out at the First Lady because they’re seeing more hungry kids and wasted food than ever before.

Rick Petfalski is the school board president for Muskego-Norway School District, and he’s a proponent of getting the federal government out of the business of dictating what children should eat.

“We believe that proper food nutrition and meal portion guidelines are best decided at a local level,” he said, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

He realizes that opting out of Michelle’s healthy meal program will mean that Muskego-Norway will no longer receive federal funding for its meals, but he thinks it’s worth it since they’ll be able to create their own menus.

The district has been losing money to begin with because there were many more students who weren’t buying meals, so the prospect of losing federal money would seem daunting since they’ll have to cover the meals themselves. However Petfalski believes that they’ll actually be spending less on food since there won’t be as much waste, and that by serving food that is more desirable to the students they’ll be able to sell more lunches.

Due to Michelle’s guidelines, Petfalski’s district was headed towards being $54,000 in the red. By ditching the federal regulations and serving food that students will actually eat, Petfalski projects that they’ll be able to turn the massive deficit into a $7,100 surplus.

“By leaving the program we will not be required to follow these onerous guidelines, pushed by and large by Michelle Obama, who last I checked has been elected by no one,” Petfalski said.

The superintendent of Waterford Graded explained why the district was losing so much money under the federal regulations.

There was a lot of waste,” Christopher Joch told the Sentinel. “The food ended up in the garbage instead of kid’s mouths,” he added.

Thanks to Michelle’s quest to take on dictatorial qualities like her husband, new regulations that took effect on July 1 drastically reducing fatty and sugary snacks will more than likely compound the problem for many schools that are already suffering.
