Last year, Breitbart.com published a promotional pamphlet from Obama’s former literary agency that was circulated in 1991 and listed the President as “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”

Released by Acton & Dystel, the booklet was intended for “business colleagues in the publishing industry,” and includes short biographies of Obama and 89 other clients of the firm, according to Breitbart. The biography listed for Obama mentions a book that he never finished titled “Journeys in Black and White,” and lists some of his prior accomplishments:

“Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. The son of an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, he attended Columbia University and worked as a financial journalist and editor for Business International Corporation. He served as project coordinator in Harlem for the New York Public Interest Research Group, and was Executive Director of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago’s South Side. His commitment to social and racial issues will be evident in his first book, Journeys in Black and White.”

The pamphlet was confirmed to be authentic by Richard Bellsey, who couldn’t recall the exact details of the booklet but confirmed to Breitbart by phone that it “sounds like one of our jobs, like I did for [Acton & Dystel] twenty years ago or more.”

According to Jay Acton, who no longer represents Obama, “almost nobody” wrote their own biography for the booklet. He did say, however, that the non-athletes whom “the agents deal[t] with on a daily basis” were “probably” approached to approve the text describing them.

At the time of Breitbart’s report, Acton’s former partner Jane Dystel still listed Obama as one of her clients, but didn’t respond to their requests for comment on the booklet. But the text editor of the booklet, Miriam Goderich, has since claimed the printing was “nothing more than a fact checking error.

While the booklet isn’t exactly solid proof of Obama falsifying his birth certificate, it certainly sheds light on the fact that he has misrepresented his past to suit his needs whenever necessary. From factual errors in his own books to lying to the public about his family, Obama has a proven history of not being forthcoming about who he is which only fans the flames of those who are skeptical of his eligibility to be president.

So is this a “fact checking error” or more of a smoking gun in which to prove that Obama wasn’t born where he said? Let us know with a comment!
