Michelle Obama Strikes Again: Birthday Cupcakes Now Banned In School

I’m sure you all remember being in school, and when it was someone’s birthday in the class, we all got to celebrate with a little treat – perhaps a cupcake? Well, that could be a thing of the past as Michelle Obama has waged a war on just about all food given to students while in school.

According to the most recent sugar nazi’s, the Wellness Committee of Edmonds School District (a school just outside of Seattle), birthdays in the classroom are now only to be celebrated using non-food items. Furthermore the state has taken it upon themselves to limit classroom treats all around to just three times per year.

As it turns out, the initiative was as a result of none other than Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” anti-obesity campaign. Spokeswoman for the Edmonds School District, DJ Jakala, explains, “We’re not just talking about one cupcake a year, we’re talking about 25 cupcakes a year.”

Not everyone is exactly happy with the new mandate – and we’re not just talking about the kids. One parent, Marcus Shelton, mentioned, “It’s not necessarily the district’s job to control that, to take away from everybody, it’s overreaching.”

Overreach isn’t anything new for the Obama’s as we all know as their narcissistic agenda has proven how effective both of them have become at such. What do you guys think though – does government have a place in discerning how many cupcakes a year our children have? Let us know in the comments below.
