Most of the time, family will be the first to help you out when things are tough – and that’s exactly what one Houston family did, but not in the way you might think. After hearing that her son was being sought after by police for an attempted robbery, a mother turned in her 16-year-old son to police.

It all started when the teen’s mother, Deandra, had discovered that police were searching for her son in relation to a robbery that happened not too far from where she lives. Apparently her son and a friend had robbed someone at a local gas station at gun point during a time in which Deandra thought her son was at a job interview.

When she had learned who the police were actually looking for, she called 911 to come for her son. She later told reporters, “People work too hard for their stuff and somebody is going to shoot you.” As stated before, Deandra explained that she is only trying to help her boy, saying, “I don’t want to see that, I don’t want to see that. I want for the best, and if this is what it takes for him to get help, let him get some help.”

When police arrived however, it seems that officers were the least of the boy’s problems as his grandmother lit into the boy as he sat in the back of a cruiser. All caught on tape, his grandma began chastising him asking, “What did you do? You did do something! You wouldn’t be in the back of this police car! What did you do?”

She further noted, “Take your butt to school and this wouldn’t happen, would it?”

In the times we live, where the younger generation are too consumed in themselves to experience any sort of accountability, it’s nice to see that parents are still doing their part once in a while. What do you guys think of this? Let us know in the comments below.
