Michelle Obama’s Appearance On Parks And Recreation A Ratings NIGHTMARE

April 25, 2014 10:27am PST

All the blogs and news sites have been swooning over Michelle Obama’s appearance on the popular show Parks and Recreation but they’ve been leaving out a very important detail, the ratings were absolutely horrible.

The news site TheHill published a piece where they absolutely gushed over the First Lady’s appearance, acting as if her gracing the show with her presence was the greatest moment in television history.

“The first lady provided an inspirational pep talk for Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope — a civil servant who weighing a job offer with the National Parks Service.”

They included a short video clip of Michelle and Amy Poehler’s character giving each other a high five, which they also raved about in their write-up.

The dirty little secret about the episode is that the ratings were about as bad as they get.

The episode was placed into the “losers” category for shows that aired Thursday evening, losing out to The Big Bang Theory and even Bad Teacher, that hurts.

Below is what TVMediaInsights posted:

“The Big Bang Theory” (CBS), “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC)

-Respectable Sampling:
“Bad Teacher” (CBS), “Black Box” (ABC)

-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Parks and Recreation” (NBC), “Saturday Night Live: SNL Shorts” (NBC), “Surviving Jack” (Fox)

In season-finale news, a one-hour installment of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” featuring a cameo appearance by First Lady Michelle Obama, scored a 2.1/ 3 from 8-9 p.m., which was actually up by 24 percent from the abysmal 1.7/ 3 at 8:30 p.m. one week earlier. But a 2.1 in the household overnights is certainly nothing to crow about, and these ratings will be no better next season no matter where “P&R” airs.

Too bad that nobody will ever really see this story since the media can’t seem to stop praising the First Lady. But just as we’ve all known, it looks like she’s not quite as popular as the liberal media would like us all to believe.
