The star of the hit reality show “Duck Dynasty” was on Laura Ingraham’s radio show on Monday and said he’d like to talk politics with the President while in a duck blind.

Willie Robertson told Ingraham that “I’d like to talk and debate and find out what’s going on in his brain a little more.”

The Robertsons have become more active in the political scene ever since the patriarch of the family, Phil Robertson, was thrust into the spotlight when he spoke about his religious beliefs in a GQ interview. Willie also attended the State of the Union address with his wife Korie as a guest of Louisiana Rep. Vance McAllister and briefly spoke with the President while there.

“I don’t shy away from people I disagree with. I want to know why they think what they do and see if you can move to maybe change their thinking in some ways. And I’m open myself. You know, I keep an open mind to other people’s beliefs,” he explained.

“I’d like to get him out there with some camouflage and a gun and we could sit out there and talk,” Robertson said. “That’s the fun about hunting, especially duck hunting, is you can sit out there and talk. It’s not like deer hunting where you have to be quiet.”

Ingraham joked with the reality star, pointing out that Obama would more than likely learn more about Americans in a single afternoon of hunting with Robertson than he has throughout his entire tenure only meeting with college students and others within select social circles.

He explained to Ingraham how many debates have occurred in their duck blinds on many different topics such as religion, politics and world events, joking that this past season has had some of the most colorful discussions yet.

“I disagree with a lot of people,” he said. “It doesn’t mean that I’m ugly to them… They’re just people and they have their different thoughts.”

The odds that we’ll ever see the President in a duck blind with Robertson are slim-to-none, however it does make for some humorous mental imaging. Picture the skeet shooting champion Barack Obama sitting beside a professional outdoors man in a duck blind, the term “oil and water” comes to mind.
