Harvard students and faculty have evacuated the school after receiving reports of explosives.

CNN reported that the bomb threats were sent via either email or phone call.

Now it appears that the threats were a hoax. Just two hours after the FBI and police department showed up on the scene, Campus Police were told the area was “all clear” and that the incident was a mere hoax.

Harvard’s website said, “The campus community will be notified through a variety of mechanisms including the Web, email and voicemail. ut of an abundance of caution, the buildings have been evacuated while the report is investigated. Harvard’s focus is on the safety of our students, faculty and staff.”

Final exams are currently underway at Harvard, but all those scheduled for today have been canceled.
