Back in 2008, Barack Obama promised America that, if it elected him, he would unite the nation. For years, it looked as if he’d broken that promise, since his socialist policies have left Americans almost as divided as they were in the years leading up to the Civil War.

Now, though, Obama seems to be making good on his promise: the nation is almost completely united in its opposition to his threat to bring America into the Syrian civil war and, worse, to do so on al Qaeda’s side. This would, of course, be the same al Qaeda that attacked the U.S. on September 11, 2001, killing 2,996 people; and that attacked the U.S. again on September 11, 2012, killing 4 people, including an American ambassador.
The nation’s unity poses a problem for the hard Left: what do you do if the most evil group in the world agrees with you? Incidentally, so we’re on the same page, if you’re the hard Left, the most evil group in the world isn’t al Qaeda, it’s the Republican party.
MSNBC’s squawking head, Ed Schultz, has the answer: you say that the Republicans couldn’t possibly agree with you for the correct reasons, no matter the fact that they are saying the correct things. Instead, they must agree with you for the wrong reasons, and the most “wrong” reason of all is hating America’s first black president.
All we can say is, Ed, this is getting old. After almost five years, no one notices the color of Obama’s skin. What they notice is the failure of his ideas. They’ve also noticed that Obama has not articulated a single good reason to go into the black hole that is essentially a civil war between Iran funded Hezbollah on one side and al Qaeda on the other side.
