Hannity Kicked Off Fox News, Replaced By Megyn Kelly
August 8, 2013 2:52pm PST
If you’re an avid fan of Fox New’s Hannity, you may be out of luck.
Fox News just announced that Megyn Kelly will be taking over his 9 pm time slot on the network.
This would be a major change for Fox, since Hannity has had that time slot since 2009 (after years of “Hannity & Colmbes” prior to that).
At this time, it is unclear whether Hannity will be completely cleared off the network, or simply joined by Kelly. But there is little doubt that Megyn will be the main attraction of the 9 pm time slot. An inside told Drudge, “It’s all about Megyn. She is the face of cable news. She has it all!”
In an official statement, Fox News said, “We will neither confirm nor deny any programming schedule changes. As previously stated, the network has signed long-term deals with Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, Shepard Smith, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren.”
44-year-old Megyn Kelly is the former host of the daytime news show “America Live.” She temporarily left the network when she had her new baby last month.
At that time, Fox revealed that Kelly would be moving to prime time but did not say which host she would be replacing.
The situation is even more confusing since Hannity has signed a contract with Fox that extends through the 2016 election.
Both Hannity and Van Susteren’s ratings have gone down since the new year, but they still remain the top shows in their time slots.
Would you be happy to see Megyn Kelly take the 9 pm time slot alone? Or do you favor Hannity? Let us know in the comments section below.
