The NRA has obtained a “cursory memo” written by a top DOJ researcher which details the findings of the official government study on the Assault Weapons Ban. The NRA is not releasing how they went about getting this internal government communication, but it has been verified to be accurate, and the researcher responsible is in turn declining any interviews. That said, you can read the full paper here, the findings are absolutely shocking – detailed below.
The following are DIRECT excerpts not edited in any way.
“Fatalities from mass shootings… account on average for 35 fatalities per year” (Official DOJ Gun Ban Study in red)
There are 1.5 million guns currently classified by the Federal Government as “Assault Weapons”(Semi-Automatic), of those 1.5 million guns, they lead to 35 ‘mass shooting’ deaths per year. Note: That doesn’t mean 35 out of 1.5M are in shootings since the shooting must kill more than 4 people to meet DOJ criteria, so we’re talking about banning 1.5M guns because of at a maximum 9 out of 1.5M guns used yearly – are used in mass shootings.
“Policies that address the larger firearm homicide issue will have a far greater impact”
What follows is the DOJ’s policy recommendations, translating the double-speak… he recommends making gun buybacks mandatory.
1. The buybacks are too small to have an impact.
2. The guns turned in are at low risk of ever being used in a crime.
3. Replacement guns are easily acquired.
Unless these three points are overcome, a gun buyback cannot be effective.”
Why would he include the words “Unless these three points are overcome” unless he was implying ‘If you want to be effective in a gun ban, do this’ Right?
The best way for Democrats to implement buybacks, since they know they can’t pass it right off the bat, is that they first get the Assault Weapons Ban passed (By bombarding everyone with messages of mass shootings and “scary” looking guns), AND THEN step by step implement policies listed above (mandatory buybacks, background checks, gun registries, confiscation, federal databases). If we were smart devious Democrats, wouldn’t that be the best way to get this passed?
Liberals reading this will scream: “No one said anything about mandatory buybacks or confiscations, you’re trying to scare people with false information.”
How about quotes then from Sen. Dianne Feinstein who is the one spearheading the Assault Weapons Ban on behalf of Obama…
1. “We are also looking at a buy-back program… Now, again, this is a work in progress so these are ideas in the development.” – Sen. Dianne Feinstein
2. “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States, for an outright ban, picking up [every gun]… Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in.” - word for word Sen. Dianne Feinstein – VIDEO PROOF of this statement below.
Dianne Feinstein admits to desire for gun confiscation
This memo is dated 2 weeks before Obama gave his speech following the Sandy Hook shooting, is there any doubt that the President would have read this study written by one of his most prominent researchers? If he didn’t read it, then alternatively, he just hates guns… I
‘m almost 100% confident wouldn’t be surprised*.
“In order to have an impact, large capacity magazine regulation needs to sharply curtail their availability to include restrictions on importation, manufacture, sale, and possession.”
The DOJ report continues to say that even the harshest restrictions would take decades to notice any effect. So, in turn, what would have an effect? Confiscation! You don’t need to be a fortune teller to predict after a ban on “importation, manufacture, sale, and possession” it’s only an inch away to say – you’re not allowed to own them at all.
“Contrary to the conventional wisdom that crime guns were being trafficked across state borders from places with less stringent regulations, such as Arizona and Nevada, we found that a majority of the guns used in crimes were purchased in Los Angeles County.”
There must be a typo here…????? California barely has any 2nd Amendment left. Ah!! Right. Criminals don’t follow laws. So, no matter what the government implements there will always be a black market. All that a gun ban would do is disarm law abiding citizens. Onwards….
“A complete elimination of assault weapons would not have a large impact on gun homicides.”
The guy who wrote this report must not be the sharpest Liberal in the shed? When his King – Barack reads this, he’ll feel as if he’s putting in all that work for nothing. My advice to the man who wrote this report – who is commendable for being honest – but inevitably is in for a scolding from Barack, is to pull out this YouTube video of Joe Biden caught off camera saying “Gun control won’t stop shootings” - Any resentment held by Obama will then be redirected to his
detractor of everything he says (I mean…) Vice-President* SurprisinglyObviously some Liberal at the Washington Times doesn’t like the new NRA Ad:
The administration has not proposed gun registration, buybacks or banning all firearms. But gun registration and ownership curbs are hot-button issues for the NRA and other gun-rights groups, which strenuously oppose the ideas. The NRA’s assertion and its obtaining of the memo in the first place underscore the no-holds-barred battle under way as Washington’s fight over gun restrictions heats up.
Why wouldn’t the NRA say that this is what the administration wants to do? Obviously everything needs to be step by step, today you ban something scary, but it’s a step in the direction to doing what they view as effective.
Utterly stupid to say, todays legislation wouldn’t include gun confiscation, but it would stop Americans from purchasing guns. If someone was going to buy a semi-automatic rifle tomorrow, and they can’t, how different is that from confiscating it? But, alas I’m not a Liberal, I don’t just make my points on a whim without basis, here’s a quote from the Governor of New York(New York: a sad place where Liberals have had their way and there isn’t
anymuch constitution left)
“Confiscation could be an option… Mandatory sale to the state could be an option.Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.” This is a word for word quote from Governor Cuomo of an American
CommunistState – New York…. This is not a historical quote from a communist dictator, just to make that 100% clear to those possibly confused.
We move on with the Leaked DOJ
Anti-Constitutional Gun Ban Blueprint Report
Liberals are groaning that the report ignored that Obama has proposed cracking down on straw purchases to prevent a growth in illegal transactions. He could do a lot of cracking down by looking in the mirror and at his #1 fan boy Eric Holder - since they oversaw the sale of not semi-automatic, but fully automatic assault weapons to Mexican drug cartels.
What’s sad is that even when the Liberal government that hates guns conducts reports, it still can’t justify its desire to ban guns. There are 1.5 million firearms classified as “assault weapons”, out of those 1.5 million firearms, they were responsible for 35 deaths in mass shootings. Anyone who reads this blog knows that guns save far more innocent life than they take, as I wrote about last week.
The Liberals know a gun ban won’t work, they don’t want it to reduce killings, they want it because government by its nature wants to exert more power over those it governs. Ironically, the information they found, is excellent ammunition to use in the debate against them.
But, if the debate is lost, what can we expect to happen with an Assault Weapons Ban?
The memo also includes details of the notorious “Australian Gun Buyback” which it concludes through numerous studies… basically did nothing.
One point in the favor of the gun control advocates:
Australia used to have 1 mass shooting per year, in the 15 years since the ban, there has not been a shooting. That’s 1 shooting per year of more than four people.
So, One point for the Liberals, and Millions of Points Against:
The remaining millions of people in both England and Australia that have been victim to gun bans, have in turn become victims to exploding rates of home invasion and armed robberies.
In the 1996 Australian Gun Ban “The law banned semiautomatic and automatic rifles and shotguns and put in place a mandatory buy-back program for newly banned weapons” in Australia this amounted to 650,000 guns.
What would that look like here if we scale the Australian numbers? That would mean the destruction of 50 million guns. In an effort to prevent 35 people a year from being killed in mass shootings, we would leave tens of millions of Americans defenseless, and in turn exponentially more than 35 would be victim to robbery, rape, and murder from the growing criminal element in America.
